Hyaluronic Acid Injection
Hyaluronic acid is a normal component in our body and is present in the skin and joints; during aging, its concentrations gradually decrease.
Its main function is to provide hydration, elasticity, and lubrication to tissues. It is mainly used to hydrate the skin, fill in wrinkles, and add volume to certain areas of the face; depending on the desired outcome, the type and density of hyaluronic acid chosen will vary.
Not all hyaluronic acids are used for the same indication, and the hyaluronic acid is chosen according to its density.
When used solely for hydration, low-density hyaluronic acids are used; if projection is desired, such as in the chin or lips, Belotero Intense is used, and to fill very specific grooves like dark circles, Belotero Balance is used.
In general, it is applied through injections, and its effects are temporary, as the body reabsorbs it over time.
